Worth the Linger

Layers of cotton insulate my cocooned body

Laying there in my safe haven

Eyes slide shut and my breathing becomes heavy as my head sinks into that pillowy nest

Resulting in quality sleep, needed rest for body, mind, and spirit

Ears activate first, noticing the dibble, dibble, drop of the spatters outside my window, showcasing itself behind a thick set of darkening curtains

Eyes slow to open upon dawn

Parade of thick, gray clouds hides the morning light

My body slowly begins to awaken

I turn over onto my side and pull the layers of cotton to my chest, now enveloped snuggly by my limbs

This dark, rainy start to the day

Worth the linger

  1. Parade of thick, gray clouds hides the morning light… / worth the linger – oh my gosh these two lines are a mood and completely connect with me this morning. Beautiful slice that highlights the waking minutes.
